I have created a new Podcast series in English called The Translation Podcast.
I will be inviting fellow translators, interpreters and entrepreneurs to talk about their passions, challenges and insights into languages, translation and many other interesting connected topics.

Last Thursday I had the amazing chance to participate to an event hosted by the Romanian Embassy in London. This event was dedicated to business opportunities between Romania and the UK. More specifically, 8 well established businesses in the County of Dolj, Romania came to London to talk about their story and their plans to expand on the UK market.

Exactly 2 years ago, we launched DGB Romanian Translation Services, a small talented Romanian translation agency, based in Reading, England. With a previous 14 years’ experience in Romania, Daniela has just moved to the UK the previous year, and quickly decided to continue sharing her love for languages and people.
Today we are celebrating 220 customers, with an amazing 33% referral rate (1 in 3 customers referred us to a friend!). A good mix of private Romanian, British and other nationalities, as well as international companies launching in Romania.

Believe me, I’ve tried it myself and after weeks and weeks of manual edits, and desperate emails with these platforms’ customer service teams, I gave up. We call “localisation” the content translation approach that uses terms that “make sense” both locally and culturally. Terms that are easily understood by a native reader. Even for Romanian, such a small niche language, the local variations can be quite significant.
Power-of-Attoney documents issued by the Romanian Consulates
Did you know? You can request a notarised and fully legal binding power-of-attorney document at one of the Romanian Consulates in the UK (i.e.: in London, Edinburg or Manchester)? The power-of-attorney deeds are redacted by the consular staff and authenticated by the Romanian Consul, who is a public notary/solicitor. Find out more.
